An-Najah Launches Community Campaign Supporting a Transition Toward 100% Renewable Energy
12 February 2025
An-Najah National University launched a community awareness campaign to promote public support for a transition toward 100% renewable energy. The initiative brought the University’s renewable-energy commitment into wider public discussion, encouraging households, community organizations and local businesses to consider their role in Palestine’s energy transition.
The campaign combined introductory presentations, accessible information materials and discussions about solar electricity, solar water heating and responsible energy consumption. University specialists explained how renewable energy can strengthen energy security, reduce dependence on fossil fuels and support environmental protection.
A central feature of the campaign was an invitation for external participants to endorse a public statement supporting the long-term transition toward 100% renewable energy. Participants discussed practical steps that communities could take, including assessing suitable solar installations and encouraging renewable-energy adoption in shared buildings.
Through the initiative, An-Najah connected its institutional commitment with community participation, emphasizing that a sustainable energy future requires cooperation across education, local government, civil society and the private sector.
