An-Najah Trains Youth Ambassadors to Promote Renewable Energy Beyond Campus

An-Najah National University delivered a youth ambassador programme designed to strengthen community awareness of renewable energy and promote public support for a transition toward 100% renewable energy.

The programme introduced participants to solar technologies, energy efficiency and the environmental benefits of replacing fossil-fuel energy sources. It also developed communication skills to help volunteers explain technical concepts clearly and respond to common community questions.

Participants practised organizing short awareness discussions and presenting the University’s public renewable-energy pledge. Training emphasized the importance of explaining the pledge as a long-term transition supported by practical actions, rather than implying that every household or institution could immediately achieve full renewable-energy supply.

Following the training, the ambassadors conducted community outreach through youth networks and local discussion activities. Their engagement encouraged residents to explore renewable-energy options and express support for the shared transition.

The initiative expanded the University’s advocacy through youth participation and created opportunities for community members to engage directly with the renewable-energy message.
